I Love My Cohort

Emma, Janna, Me, Christina, Vicky, Emily, Mara, Taylor, Brianna,
Satya, Shanin, Jayne

Cohort 1 Rules.
These guys showed their support for us once again on Friday night. The Silent Auction was so fun, the night's a bit of a blur. I was so busy, I don't remember who I talked to. I am glad it's over, but I wish we could have the event again so that I can not stress out before. But oh well.

Photography

As I look through my daily blog reads I am struck by how lucky we are to be able to photograph everything. But then I think, what happens to all of our pictures? Our online lives? It's weird to think about, we are creating these lives that live on, past us.
I am always a bit saddened by the fact that I've only seen one video from my childhood. There are a few photos that are iconic and remind me of my childhood, but nothing like the kids of this generation will have.
But how often will they look at them, will it help them to remember more? Sometimes I think I'm a bit of a fatalist because I wonder what really matters? Would our lives be any different if we couldn't record anything? Probably not.
But then I remember the joy I get from taking a good photograph, and how I love looking back through my albums.
In Eurydice he said, "We've known each other for centuries, I want to reminisce."
That was my favourite line.
I love to reminisce, and I feel as though we've known each other for centuries. I am so lucky.

Checking in...

So it's over, the silent auction that is. I don't know if there will be many pictures since a certain someone's sister seemed to have some issues. I really am wishing that I took my camera, but at the same time I really did just enjoy the night. I barely remember much of it because I was so busy. Every single thing sold except the Crystal Pool passes, which was kind of funny. Everyone that came had an awesome time. Quynne and Alex hung out the whole night, then we went out afterwards.
Will got an amazing $13.00 haircut, now he'll never go back. I think it was the best one he ever had. And I had one of the worst haircuts ever, but it's only because the woman didn't speak English very well and she thought for some strange reason, that the hair by my ears should for some reason be cut as part of my bangs. How does that make any sense?
I was very stressed out during the haircut because it took two hours and everyone was texting me and we had the kegs in the car.
We didn't go to school on Friday except to hand in bursary applications. Oh, how I could use one of those. We picked up the kegs and prepped for the fundraiser. I definitely was stressed out although I really didn't want to be. It all happened because of the haircut.
But we had over 100 people there, and all the booze sold out by 11:15. Janna and Brianna were our bar tenders all night. Sarah's parents watched the door, and we were free to socailize. A lot of people left as soon as the auction items were sold, but the few that stayed had an awesome time.
Everyone was really impressed by Kyle and Glenn, and Stagger Wild was awesome. Chris just topped off the night for those of us that wanted to dance.
We had the place cleaned up by 12, and went out.
On Saturday we met up with Quynne, Alex, and Kyle for breakfast at the James Bay Tea House which was awesome. Their scones are amazing. Quynne and Alex took us back to the car, and we came back to the house to get changed since we were doing the walk of shame all morning.
We met up with L. D. and A. downtown and walked around.
Sunday L. W. and I went to the museum and saw the Wildlife Photography exhibition which was awesome. I got a bit of work done, but not enough to stop me from stressing out today.
Will dropped off the kegs for us this morning before heading back up island. I just handed in my Lit. assignment, finished my History assignment, and Jayne and I have been struggling away on our Drama assignment. We also taught a music lesson today.
We still have to finish P.E., teach a drama lesson, go to Braefoot one last time, do two take home exams, edit the history paper, and a myriad of other things I don't want to think about. But for now I am going to relax, and then I can stress again tomorrow.

The Most Stressful Time of Year

I just made a sweet video of James but it won't let me upload it and I don't know why. I will have to try again later. Maybe with a different internet connection? I just don't know. I am so busy, and somewhat stressed. There are just a lot of things to do....
Like:
change my address
finish all of my school work
prep for silent auction
pick up final donations
work
organize Africa things such as visas
the list goes on.
That's all I want to say about that right now.
Alex gave me a lens last weekend. I can't believe it. It's exactly what I wanted to buy but couldn't afford. I can't wait to practice with it this weekend when I go up with C & C for an awesome St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Noodles

How did I not know that putting noodles in tomato soup could turn something so boring into something so good? I just discovered that this evening thanks to Jayne, and if I hadn't eaten it so fast maybe I would've thought to take a picture of it. Or maybe not, it's kind of gross looking.
Another thought on noodles, James said it the other day, and along with library is now my favourite thing he says. Well, anything he says is just plain adorable. But noodles, come on. I should try to record him saying it so I can listen to it whenever I need a pick me up.
I just finished writing my school design proposal for history, but I don't really love it. I'll look over it in the morning before printing it and handing it in. It's so bad, but I just don't care anymore. I don't think it's a great paper, but at the same time I have no idea how he'll mark it. Maybe I'll do just fine. I'm not overly worried, bur I'm also not proud of it. Oh, well. At least my drama and literacy essays did well.
History and philosophy are not my favourites.
Tomorrow I'm going to see Quynne for her birthday but I have a few errands to run first. I should dress nice and do a bit of fundraising for an hour or two. So close to the silent auction...

March, man oh man

How can it already be March? I am so busy, so so busy. I can't think about how busy I am. I finally uploaded pictures, so this may be image heavy. I also have some sweet videos of James, but I might try to edit them into a fun one.....
So without further ado...
