During May Long ( I think) we went to Pachena Bay. C. & C. were already there, they were able to leave early. We drove out on the back roads, I'd never been out there before. We arrived in the dark, and were looking for site #49 which didn't seem to exist. So I began whistling. C. says she heard our car and came running up from the beach right when I saw their Jeep. We pulled into our spot, not # 49, and grabbed a couple of drinks. C. & C. had a nice fire on the beach, as did a bunch of other people. It's the only campground that allows beach fires. Which made it the best camp site ever. Once we'd finished our drinks we went and set up the tent and made the fire at our site for a late dinner of smokies. C. fell out of his chair, we listened to "Rod the Bod", and laughed at our singing until we could barely keep our eyes open.
Breakfast was a delicious egg & bacon feast, as per usual when we camp together. We spent the next few days exploring the beach in the morning, drinking, and hanging out with some kids on the beach. I think the Dad enjoyed having us entertain them for the weekend. Although C. did get drunk and fall on his face a bit, but no one seemed to mind.
The boys played horseshoes all weekend. After one or two games my arm was so sore. We also played our obligatory bocce game, but we were distracted by something (that I don't remember), and never finished the game.
There were more starfish and sea creatures there than I've ever seen. We watched osprey fly over the beach, and eagles diving for fish. On the way out we had to wait on the side of the road for a bit for C. & C. to catch up. So we sat on the hood and ate Fruit Loops out of our plastic bowls. It was a perfect camping weekend.
