Begin at the Beginning

Home Sweet Home...

Well soon enough anyways!
We have decided to make a huge life change. Many people will think we are crazy, and a small part of me agrees. But I think it's crazy in a good way. We are planning to leave our spacious, beautiful, heritage  house loft, (that costs us way too much to rent), and move onto a 23 foot sailboat. W. is going to quit his job that takes up most of his time and provides little satisfaction, and turn this beauty into our home. We bought it in 2009, after W. found it online. For some reason the previous owner wrote in the add that it was built by F.P. who's my maternal grandfather. So we went to look at it, I cried and became instantly emotionally attached. W. also fell in love with the shape and potential of the little boat. It has been sitting, patiently, waiting for us to realize that we are meant to live on it. This is the hardest part. The beginning. Giving up what is comfortable, and easy, for something that is far from conventional. But I think it's worth it, and that's what matters. We are in this together, and I think it's important to keep track of our lives. Because, if our story can inspire someone else to live outside the "norm", or to change their life for the better, that's what it's all about. Also, remembering why we are turning our lives upside down and going backwards for the next few months, will be important during the stressful days of missing one another.
